Some retailers like Radio Shack offer a few bucks for old cell phone and MP3 players. Don't throw that money away!

Another way to dispose of an old cell phone is to offer it to a local fire department they often gather donations for women's shelters, etc.

Get out of the disposable mindset. Avoid products that have short lifespan of can't be recycled. Start with small steps. Instead of using a disposable razor buy just disposable blades and a handle that you can use for a year or 2.

Instead of using plastic wrap and foil - pack your lunch in plastic containers that you can use over and over.

Plant lots of trees! They are good for the environment and will help shade your home -which will cut down on a/c usage.

Limit you use of weed killers and pesticides. Look for natural solution. For example, you can spray soapy water on plants to kill insects.

Try mowing your lawn with a gas-less push mower. It's cheaper, quieter, and good exercise.
