Google Wave Tips

Prepare yourself for the new communication app by Google Wave by having a good understanding of how e-mail programs work. You can certainly use programs like Outlook but learning and using Gmail will help you prepare for Google Wave a little better so you can be used to the Google environment.

Don't confuse Wave with e-mail. It will be much, much more that that. Think of Wave as e-mail, social media, wikis, blogs, file sharing, games, instant messaging, collective editing and more rolled into one. This is one powerful application that's sure to change the world and how we communicate with one another.

Upon the Google Wave release, be prepared to take advantage of useful features like photo sharing by simply dragging and dropping from your desktop, doing Google searches from Wave and even integrating Wave into your blog!

Since live chat is one of the most exciting features of Wave and because it will be useable on smart phones like the Apple's iPhone, many eager newswatchers and techies will rush to install it. But be advised... most new applications are are a bit buggy in the beginning. You need to decide whether you're going to be the guinea pig for Google or if you'll wait for them to work out the bugs before you sign on.

Once Google Wave is fully developed and ready for everyone, you will be able to utilize the service to add "waves" to your own website. You may also be able to develop your own functions to work inside already existing waves.
